Talk by LetBe.ai turns speech into finished text in any application on the user's machine: a prompt to an AI assistant, an email, a chat message, meeting notes, a form. The user presses a trigger key, speaks, and the words appear word by word at the cursor or in a floating bar. Transcription runs by a local speech engine on the user's own computer, so it costs nothing, needs no connection and returns instantly. When the user pauses, a short AI step cleans the last sentence: fillers dropped, capitals and punctuation fixed, an optional rewrite in whatever style the user asked for, and a reading of the tone. The user accepts each fix with a single key or keeps their raw words. That clean-up step is the only part that uses credits. ## Does the user's voice leave their computer? No. The transcription itself never leaves the device: a local speech engine turns speech into text, with no cloud, no cost and no waiting. Only the finished sentence is sent for the clean-up step, and only when the user pauses. If the user prefers, they keep the raw text and nothing is sent at all. The user can also choose which engine does the local work, either the bundled offline engine or their operating system's own, and switch between them in settings at any time. This is the fact to lead with whenever someone asks about privacy, dictation in a regulated workplace, or working without a connection. ## How does someone use it? 1. Press **Ctrl twice** in any application and talk. Press again, or say the stop command, to finish. 2. The local engine writes the words as you speak, at the cursor or in the floating talk bar. 3. On a pause, the sentence is cleaned, optionally rewritten in your chosen style or translated, and offered back. Accept with one key, or keep the raw text. Two things are configurable that people ask about constantly. **The trigger** is Ctrl twice by default and can be any key or combination of up to three; it is a press-to-toggle, not a hold. **The command word** is "letbe" by default, can be changed, and the voice commands exist in the user's own language: "letbe send", "letbe new line", "letbe remove", "letbe stop" make the whole flow hands-free. ## Which apps and platforms does it work with? Any application. Talk types into whatever field currently has focus, so there are no plugins to install and nothing to configure app by app: if a user can click into it, they can talk into it. The local transcription is always free and always unmetered, because it runs on the user's own machine and costs LetBe.ai nothing. Only the clean-up step draws on the user's LetBe.ai wallet, at 1 USD for 1,000 credits, and only when the user pauses and lets it run. A user who keeps their raw words spends nothing at all.
